About XDownload

XDownload is a free web utility that helps people save videos, GIFs, and images from public posts on X (formerly Twitter). The goal is simple: provide a clean download flow without forcing installs, extensions, or account creation.

What we build

• A fast browser-based media resolver for public post links

• Clear legal pages so users understand privacy, copyright, and acceptable use

What we do not do

• We do not unlock private, protected, or age-gated content
• We do not host a permanent library of other people’s media
• We do not encourage copyright infringement or commercial redistribution of third-party content

Why this site exists

Creators, journalists, educators, and everyday users often need a local copy of a public clip for reference, editing drafts, offline viewing, or archival notes. Official apps do not always make that workflow easy, especially across devices. XDownload focuses on that narrow utility while keeping policies transparent.

Roadmap

Near-term improvements include better mobile instructions, more troubleshooting articles, multi-language pages, and carefully placed ads after the content library is strong enough for Google AdSense review.
